Welcome to the Tidewater Beekeepers Association

We are the largest local beekeeper's organization in Virginia. We boast an active membership of over 100 and regular attendance to our monthly meetings of about 40. Our meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. We can be found at that time in the Agricultural Extension trailer at the intersection of  Holt Drive and Shea Drive next to the Chesapeake City Hall.

The public is invited to join us then for coffee and snacks and to socialize before the meeting.

The objectives of Tidewater Beekeepers Association, a non-profit organization, are:

  • To provide a forum for the exchange of information, ideas, and views of mutual interest to beekeepers.

  • To provide education on the practical aspects of beekeeping and to encourage the use of better and more productive methods.

  • To foster cooperation between members of the Association.

  • To promote understanding and cooperation between the Association and the community with regard to beekeeping.

  • To promote the interests of the Association membership which relate to bees and beekeeping.

  • To promote the use of honey, honey products, and other hive products.
