About the event

Varroa mites are a leading challenge for beekeepers, and effective management is critical for the health and survival of your colonies. Join us for a hands-on training session dedicated to understanding and controlling Varroa and other destructive pests.

This workshop will cover:

  • How to identify and monitor Varroa mite levels using techniques like sugar rolls, alcohol washes, and sticky boards.

  • Understanding the Varroa lifecycle and its impact on colony health.

  • Timing and selecting appropriate treatment methods, including chemical and non-chemical options.

  • Developing an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plan tailored to your apiary.
